Fall 2018 Color Trend

Fall 2018 color trend eye shadow colors

The makeup trend for Fall 2018 is jewel tone colors.  Think of rich emerald green, amethyst, ruby red, sapphire and gold.  Mix these with your favorite fall colors and you will have a palette that will having you looking fantastic straight through the holiday season.

For your eyes try emerald green, navy blue, purple and golden browns.  If the thought of some of these colors makes you feel skittish try using them as eyeliners instead.  You can also use them on the outer corners of your eyes and blend them to almost no color near the inner corners to achieve a colorful soft-smoky look.

Makeup Tip:  blue based colors worn next to your eyes and teeth make them appear brighter.  Try using a navy blue eyeliner pencil on your water line instead of black to make them sparkle.  You can also apply a thin line of navy or royal blue eyeshadow along your lower lash line for a youthful pop of color.  Wearing lipstick colors like ruby red, magenta and Bordeaux instead of fire engine red will brighten your smile.

Blue based lipstick and lip gloss colors

For you cheeks highlighter is still “in” and will always be a holiday season favorite.  This season be a little more sparing with the highlighter and consider using it creatively on your face.  Like on your brow bone to give your eyes an instant lift or on the inner corners of your eyes.  Highlighter is especially sexy when worn in the center of your lips on top of your favorite lipstick or gloss.

For your lips ruby red, wines and vibrant plumbs are all trendy colors this season.  For added drama add highlighter or a metallic gloss on top of your lipstick to get a ready for the party look.

For your skin remember that with cooler weather comes drier skin.  Be sure to protect and maintain a healthy glow by using moisturizer.  A great product to consider is BB Crème.  This multi-functional formula is a moisturizer, foundation, primer and sunscreen it also reduces the appearance of fine lines.

Makeup Tip:  want to hold onto your tan a little while longer?  Try wear BB Crème a shade darker than your natural complexion.  Doing this will warm and deepen your skin and give you a radiant from within glow.
